Although we have no control over world events, be they political or natural, we do know we can make a difference through our books. It is our passion that our contributions be positive influences in the life of the readers.
In the last several years, the publishing industry has drastically changed. Who they are willing to publish has changed, therefore the books have changed. It is extremely difficult for an unknown author, or someone who has never been published before, to break into the industry. What can make matters worse is that most publishing houses are relying on agents to work with authors.
We believe that our company is functioning like publishing houses did twenty years ago. We maintain high standards, encourage a team approach throughout the process, and believe in aggressive marketing. Our covers are very colorful and attractive. We want them to stand out in a crowd. Our books have a refreshing look and a down-to-earth appeal since our stories are real and honest, just like us.

Ferne Press is named after my mother, Ferne. I believe in her lifetime she had many stories she wanted to tell, but was never able to realize her dreams. It is important to me to help others see that this is an accomplishment that is worth the effort. I feel honored to have her name represent this section of Nelson Publishing & Marketing.
Ferne Press is a full-service press. We provide professional services through each step of the publishing process. It is important that our authors become part of the team and have input from beginning to end. We work closely to achieve the author's voice and vision of the story. We want our authors to love the book and know that it is "their baby."
Our mission is to help authors realize that dreams do come true. It is still an honor to meet an author. We believe that lesser-known writers have wonderful stories and we give them the chance to become successful authors.
